Hotels
For the Bahrain Grand Prix 2026, accommodation options cater to a wide range of preferences, from luxurious resorts to more budget-friendly hotels, primarily concentrated in and around Manama, the capital city. Hotels in close proximity to the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir include the highly-rated 5-star Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa. Other upscale choices include Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain and the Gulf Hotel Bahrain. For those preferring a slightly greater distance with good accessibility, areas like Amwaj Islands offer premium selections such as the 4-star Ramada Hotel and Suites Amwaj Islands and the 5-star Art Hotel & Resort. Early booking is highly recommended due to high demand during the Grand Prix weekend.
Circuit Connection
The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is situated in the heart of the Sakhir desert, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Manama, Bahrain’s capital. During the Grand Prix weekend, complimentary shuttle bus services are typically provided, connecting major hotels in Manama directly to the circuit. These shuttles operate frequently, offering an efficient and popular option for attendees. For those arriving at Bahrain International Airport (BIA), the A1 bus service offers a connection to central Manama. Driving to the circuit is also a viable option, with ample parking facilities available on-site.
Transfer Options
A variety of transportation services are available for convenient travel to and from the Bahrain International Circuit. Taxis are readily accessible throughout Manama, offering a comfortable and reasonably priced option. Many taxis are air-conditioned, clean, and some even provide complimentary Wi-Fi. Ride-sharing services like Uber also operate in Bahrain. Rental cars are available at the airport and in Manama. Additionally, numerous official F1 travel packages often include private round-trip airport transfers and daily transfers to the circuit from partner hotels. It is prudent to pre-book taxis or arrange transfers during peak times.
Circuit Guide
The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) promises exciting racing with ample overtaking opportunities. Drivers often face challenges from wind and significant temperature fluctuations between sessions, especially when racing under floodlights. The track’s most demanding section is the tight, downhill, off-camber Turn 10 left-hander. The fast run through Turn 12 is another highlight, allowing cars to truly come alive. For spectators, the Batelco Grandstand offers an excellent vantage point, providing views of cars charging into Turn 8, navigating Turns 9 and 10, and accelerating towards Turn 11. Remember to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun.
City Activities
Manama, the vibrant capital of Bahrain, offers a rich tapestry of history, culture, and modern attractions. A must-see is the majestic Al-Fateh Grand Mosque, one of the world’s largest, showcasing stunning Islamic architecture. History enthusiasts can explore the ancient Bahrain Fort (Qal’at al-Bahrain), a UNESCO World Heritage site. The mysterious Tree of Life (Shajarat-al-Hayat), a 400-year-old mesquite tree standing alone in the desert, is another iconic natural wonder. The Bahrain National Museum provides a comprehensive overview of the kingdom’s rich history. For local commerce and culture, a visit to Bab Al Bahrain and the bustling Manama Souq is recommended.
Weather
The Bahrain Grand Prix in April typically features very warm and dry weather conditions, characteristic of its desert climate. Average high temperatures during this month range from 29°C (84°F) to 32°C (90°F), with nighttime lows around 21°C (70°F) to 23°C (73°F). Days are generally sunny with a minimal chance of rain. However, attendees should be prepared for noticeable temperature fluctuations between daytime and evening sessions, as desert nights can be considerably cooler. Wind can also be a factor, potentially carrying sand onto the circuit. It is advisable to wear light, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunglasses, and to maintain good hydration.
Culture & Tips
Bahrain, while a liberal Gulf state, upholds strong Islamic traditions and customs that visitors should respect. Modesty in dress is generally appreciated, particularly when visiting religious sites or public areas. Public displays of affection are uncommon. When interacting with locals, a firm handshake and a warm smile are customary greetings. The official language is Arabic, but English is widely spoken, especially in business and tourism sectors. During the holy month of Ramadan, visitors should be aware that many establishments may have altered hours. Bahrainis are renowned for their hospitality, ensuring a pleasant experience for international visitors.

Bahrain boasts a diverse culinary landscape, offering everything from authentic local eateries to international fine dining. For a genuine taste of Bahraini cuisine, highly recommended establishments include Haji Gahwa and Emmawash, known for their traditional dishes and local ambiance. Hala Cafe is another popular choice. CUT by Wolfgang Puck for high-end steak, Rasoi for Indian cuisine, and Masso Restaurant for Mediterranean flavors are also notable options.

The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) frequently offers interactive experiences, including dynamic racing simulators. These simulators allow visitors to virtually get behind the wheel and navigate the challenging Sakhir track, providing a realistic F1 experience complete with force feedback and immersive visuals. Dedicated gaming centers in areas like Arad and El Mercado Mall may also feature high-end sim racing setups available for public use.
Motorsport Activities
Beyond the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) serves as a vibrant hub for diverse motorsport activities throughout the year. Adjacent to the main F1 track is the Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC), a world-class facility that has hosted international championships and offers public karting sessions. Another exciting option is Trax Bahrain, featuring the region’s first multi-level e-karting track with an impressive 500-meter layout. The BIC also regularly hosts other thrilling racing events, including the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge, Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.
